A massive thank you to everyone who came down to play yesterday- I’m guessing that the turn out was near 500- which is top banana! One pig, 140 sausages & 56 Litres of Mulled wine later- I think everyone enjoyed themselves- I lit the bonfire early because I feared last years debacle would ensue (45 minutes just to get it going!) but this time the bugger went straight up… So by 7pm the thing was raging like ragey thing! The boys did a great job with the fireworks and I’m sure there were plenty of “ooohs” and “ahs” at all the right moments- I couldnt hear a thing- I was Mulled winetastic!
A couple of comments: One lady apparently said that she had had to queue for a long time for the pig- alas i didnt get to ask her how much she had paid for this free event and I explained to one chap that the car park was a bit full but that there was a field for overflow parking just on the other side of the bridge- “in the field” he said-” well its a bit wet” – “that’ll be the rain, sir!”
Other than that everyone was in good humour and whoever was responsible for the ‘Second Guy’ I will hunt you down….It looked strangely familiar and if there was any doubt it had a sign saying “SAM- THE GOOD GUY” anyway we burnt the hell out of him!!
Thanks to all the staff and to all of you fluffies who came down- even Smurf left The Cricketers for a whole evening?!!
See you all again next year….?
