Ah mes petites (French for Ayyup!), I trust we are all well and have been continuing to abuse each other in my absence. Yes folks I went on holiday (lazy, I know), 2 weeks in Hong kong- thanks it was great! I stuffed face like a stuffy facey thing and am now fluent in Cantonese as well as about a stone heavier…
Today leads me to believe that Autumn maybe finally upon us- lets face it, its been a tad confused for the past few weeks. Whilst obviously wanting to remind you about Christmas & New Year, I wanted let you know that this Thursday is Bonfire Night. Guy Fawkes (who, allegedly used to live under the bridge)… Our second Birthday….British sausage Week…..the day before mum’s birthday. What on earth can we be doing that gets me out, off my sofa, I hear you all whimper. Well, I shall tell you:

It’s a massive bonfire (not a euphemism)- and I mean oversized- there’s a picture on our facebook group with a dog for scale! (http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/group.php?gid=20661678789)
Fireworks and lots of them (whats the collective noun for fireworks A Vwing of fireworks?), BBQ Sausages, pig roast, Veggie burgers, toffee apples, Mulled wine, outside bar, inside bar (okay so that’s what we normally have but y’know I thought I’d reiterate). Extra parking in a nearby field
(last year the parking was crazy bonkers so hopefully this’ll make life a little easier!)
Once again there is no charge for admission- It’s a pub for goodness sake! Bring your wellies and mittens it might be chilly!
Other stuff what has happened that you will definitely, almost, maybe, care about, isn’t it, you know? We have been given a main entry into The Good Pub Guide 2010 with an award for wine- which makes me rather chuffed to say the least- mainly because there’s not that many entries in Warwickshire and it gives me a nice sticker to go next to the Alistair Sawday 2009 one!! Also we came second or Highly Commended in Coventry & Warwickshire Good Food Awards 2009- (no sticker as yet!) Christmas menus are available here (http://redlionhunningham.co.uk/?p=187) in PDF’s!!
